Spring has arrived in Janesville, and if you are like every other Wisconsinite you are loving the warmer temperatures and sunny days ahead. Spring is a great time to get outside, enjoy the fresh air, and explore your community . . . by foot! Take a walk downtown, grab a coffee, sit outside, window shop, and see for yourself the transformation that is happening. The Janesville community will be bustling this summer. If you hear a friend, coworker, or family member ever say “there is nothing to do,” I challenge you to share the many exciting things happening in our community and especially in our downtown. One of the four main goals with the ARISE Now initiatives is ACTIVATING PUBLIC SPACES . ARISE Now’s public-private partnership is more than just about building buildings, it is about creating spaces that can be enjoyed by all ages and that also play a valuable role in fostering social interaction and engagement in community life. Programming these spaces is also vital in creating community activation. Partners from the Janesville Area Convention & Visitors Bureau (www.janesvillecvb.com ), Downtown Janesville Inc. (www.downtownjanesville.com) , and the City of Janesville (www.ci.janesville.wi.us ) are just a few that are all active in hosting events that will bring residents and visitors to enjoy the amenities of our downtown community.
