Forward Janesville - TheReport - Second Quarter 2019
18 • W W W . F O R W A R D J A N E S V I L L E . C O M The 2019 Forward Janesville Annual Dinner was filled with reflections on past and future plans and a whole lot of laughs as Tim Lindau, Forward Janesville Board Vice Chair, sat down to interview former Speaker of the House and Janesville native, Paul Ryan. The April evening kicked off with a cocktail reception while the Janesville Craig Jazz ensemble performed for guests, followed by a delicious dinner from Hoffman House. Forward Janesville President John Beckord welcomed the evening’s 735 guests with an opening speech that highlighted three key projects that have begun or are underway in Rock County: Shine Medical Technologies is due to begin construction of their facility in May 2019; the I39-I90 corridor continues to expand from the Illinois border to Madison; and the AriseNow project has made impressive strides—the Blain-Gilbertson Family Heritage Bridge will begin to take shape this summer. Lynn Gardinier, Board Chair, spoke briefly before introducing our keynote speaker, encouraging members to think about what they might do now, for tomorrow, in our community. Forward Janesville would like to extend its gratitude to all the evening’s sponsors and everyone in attendance for helping make this an evening to remember.
