JANESVILLE e x p e r i e n c e t h e p o w e r o f c o m m u n i t y Forward Janesville and ARISE Now were pleased to partner with the Rock Internship Program for its second year, welcoming Abbie Campion, a Senior at Milton High School, as a six-week summer intern. Abbie’s academic focus is sports and event management along with community development. The purpose of the Rock Internship Program is to accelerate personal/professional development, skill set development, and career-related exposure. Abbie was able to work hands-on with the Gran Prix Bike Race, Music at the Marv, Business After Five, and the FJI Golf Outing events, while attending many meetings and tackling in-house projects. Abbie has been a great asset to the FJI staff this summer and we wish her nothing but the best in her continued education and career path! Q3 2019 #FJIworks #chiefblackhawk Downtown Janesville came alive as artist Jeff Henriquez spent over 10 days creating a beautiful mural of Chief Black Hawk on the side of the building housing 29 South Café on Main Street. #futureleaders Students in Van Buren’s STEM summer school program were excited to learn about all of the happenings in Town Square and all over downtown Janesville. Representatives from ARISE Now and the City of Janesville shared updates on construction, architecture, and engineering. #musicatthemarv FJI staff helped plan and execute Janesville’s weekly downtown summer music series, where thousands enjoyed live music and refreshments from local food and beverage vendors. #golfouting Despite the heat and then a storm, golfers enjoyed a great day with plenty of food, fun and beverages, not to mention a bevy of great prizes donated by our generous members!
