FALL 2017 • 7 Q3 2017 #FJI works #FJI volunteers Forward Janesville Ambassadors assisted at Echo’s School Drive on August 25. Giving back to the community they love is important to this group of volunteers, who consistently give their time and talents. #FJI livesunited Forward Janesville staff volunteered with United Way’s Day of Caring on September 20th by pulling weeds and trimming bushes at the YWCA! #FJI wins Forward Janesville celebrated several “wins” in the recently passed 2017-19 Wisconsin state budget. The budget keeps the I-39/90 Expansion Project on schedule, includes a special five-year $583,000 allocation to the City of Janesville and contains a $1 million funding increase for the popular Wisconsin Career and Technical Education Incentive Grant Program. #FJI endorses FJI recently endorsed the School District of Milton’s 2017 $69.9 million facilities referendum, which will be on the November 7 election ballot. FJI supports the referendum because it will strengthen Rock County’s school infrastructure and provide solid footing to educate the workers that area businesses need to grow and prosper. #FJI develops Community representatives, including John Beckord from Forward Janesville, met the leadership team from Commercial Development Company. Inc., of St. Louis, MO, who have agreed to purchase and redevelop the GM Assembly Plant. #FJI learns Forward Janesville Ambassadors host their monthly meetings at various businesses and organizations in the community. Gray Brewing Company, a new FJI member, highlighted their brewery during the September Business After Five. #FJI networks Nothing But Net Speed Networking events, a free quarterly benefit for all FJI members, are a great way to meet new business representatives in your community. The Janesville School District hosted the August networking session.
