Box of Balloons Janesville Chapter received $1000 for their Emergency Birthday Box Requests . C O M Launched in 2015 to support and advance the educational, cultural, and economic interests of the community in which we work and live, the Forward Janesville Ambassador Grant Program has awarded over $19,000 to local member non-pro fi ts. Due to the efforts and generous donations of our 46 active Ambassadors, along with support from our business peers and community, we were able to award $5,500 to fi ve-member non-pro fi ts in 2020. They include: FJI Ambassador Grants Supports Community Non-Pro fi ts Congratulations to the 2020 Recipients! ECHO, Inc . received a $1000 grant award for their Transportation Assistance Program . ECHO’s mission is dedicated to meeting the housing, food, and other basic human needs and addressing the barriers to self-suf fi ciency to our under- served. This grant will serve the needs of approximately 75 households with gas cards and bus tokens, so their opportunities are not limited. T he Janesville Performing Arts Center received $1500 in support of their Spring/Summer Concert Programs . As one of the hardest hit business segments since COVID-19, the funds received will help keep vital programs running. HealthNet of Rock County received $1000 for its Diabetes Education Program . The education program focuses on teaching patients what diabetes is, the short and long-term effects it can have on their bodies and overall health, and the importance of taking their medicine as prescribed and daily. Downtown Janesville, Inc. received $1000 for their Planting Hope campaign. The mission of Downtown Janesville Inc. is to provide a leadership role in the downtown. In addition, DJI plays a key role in the improvement of our city center’s aesthetics. Maintaining a level of aesthetics in our city center helps project positivity and stimulate the downtown economy, which affects over 743 shops, restaurants and businesses.
