The Forward Janesville Government Relations Council (GRC) is a dynamic and impactful group of two dozen Forward Janesville members who chart the organization’s course on all legislative matters. The Council approves each position the organization takes on local, state, or federal issues, and aids in planning our legislative and political events. They meet once a month to discuss issues that affect Forward Janesville members at all levels of government. We want you to know more about the GRC, starting with brief profiles highlighting eight of the 24 GRC members, with more profiles to come in future months. 14 • W W W . C O M Dan Cunningham • Vice President of Government Affairs and Education • danc@forwardjanesville.com Dan Cunningham Dave Holterman, GRC Chair • Business Name & Title: Vice President, First Community Bank of Milton Time on the Council: I began with Forward Janesville as an Ambassador in 2014 and have been a member of the GRC since 2018. Interesting Fact: My wife and I have children that were born in two separate centuries and three separate decades. Seth Frisbee • Business Name & Title: Partner and Employee Benefits Consultant, TRICOR Insurance Time on the Council: Served for five years on the GRC. Interesting Fact: My family and I are avid travelers. Mark Hasting • Business Name & Title: Chief of Stores, Blain Supply, Inc. Time on the Council: I have served on the GRC for two months. Interesting Fact: I am a self-described gearhead and, if given the opportunity, would love to have a racing experience with Kyle Busch. Jeff Knier • Business Name & Title: Director of Operations-Wisconsin, Alliant Energy Time on the Council: Three years. Interesting Fact: During the summer, I enjoy sailboat racing out of the harbor in Milwaukee on Lake Michigan. I have been part of the same crew for six years. Rick Nelson • Business Name & Title: Vice President of Commercial Lending, Premier Bank Time on the Council: Fairly new member at eight months. I really enjoy what the committee has accomplished within our business and workforce communities! Interesting Fact: I have served in a few capacities with the Greater Beloit Economic Development Corporation for 12 plus years; currently I assist on the Audit and Finance Committee. Curt Parish • Business Name & Title: Recently retired Financial Advisor, Wealthspire Advisors Time on the Council: 10+ years Interesting Fact: In retirement, I want to remain active in the community and the GRC is a great way to do it! Rick Richard • Business Name & Title: Owner, RD Worldwide Search & Staffing Time on the Council: On the GRC since 2013. Interesting Fact: People may not know I race cars in wheel-to- wheel endurance races at various Midwest tracks. Ben Van Pelt • Business Name & Title: Director of Government Affairs, SSM Health-Wisconsin Time on the Council: About one year. Interesting Fact: Former professional wrestler.
