Forward Janesville - TheReport - Fourth Quarter 2020

If you donned your mask and ventured downtown in early September, you may have been lucky enough to spot an artist perched atop a raft of scaffolding, at work on his or her latest masterpiece, thanks to a new Art Infusion program. Since its inception in 2011, Art Infusion has continued to grow its annual programming, bringing an array of art-focused experiences to the Janesville community, including an annual sidewalk chalk art event. Janesville’s fi ve new murals now gracing the side of various downtown buildings are the latest Art Infusion project. Created by local, regional and national artists, these public artworks are a celebration of our community that can be enjoyed by residents and visitors year-round. “By adding the outdoor painted wall mural component, we create another link to the arts that will be available for the community and visitors to enjoy for years to come," said Christine Rebout, Executive Director at JACVB. Art Infusion is made possible by a generous group of donors and volunteers, who worked closely with the City of Janesville, Janesville Performing Art Center, Rock County Historical Society, Rotary Botanical Gardens, Janesville Art League, Rock County Children’s Museum and Downtown Janesville, Inc., to make this year’s event a success. “Art Infusion” Murals Solidify Janesville as a Growing Art Destination
