Forward Janesville - TheReport - Fourth Quarter 2023

teamwork, and communication to make this into a strong program. I am very thankful and appreciative to everyone involved. I’ve learned that we all have the same goal in mind: to help these young people and prepare them for a great future. There are so many wonderful organizations in Janesville and a wide variety of career opportunities. What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? My dad always told me to focus on hitting singles versus home runs. It helped me learn to take care of the small things with great detail and effort, to know change doesn’t happen overnight, and to celebrate all wins. What word best summarizes you? Dedicated. I am very passionate about JP Cullen’s mission statement and my role at JP Cullen. We truly do have the best people and I take great pride in getting to work with every team member. I want to do everything I can to make sure they have the resources to be successful. I’m also dedicated to my family. On the weekends, you’ll find me outside playing or going on walks with my son Henry (4), daughter Jane (2), and husband Jack. TRACY SCHROEDER Director of Community Development, GIFTS Men’s Shelter Forward Janesville Ambassador Tracy has been a Forward Janesville Ambassador for almost 2 years. Born and raised in Orfordville, Tracy worked for many years in Madison while living in the Janesville area. When a position opened at GIFTS, she was thrilled to be able to make a difference in a community closer to home. You can recognize her at FJI events by her welcoming smile and warm spirit. Tracy builds relationships one person at a time and is passionate about being involved and watching Janesville grow. What do you fi nd ful fi lling about working in a community close to where you live? Janesville is really unique in the way the community rallies when there is a cause. If there is a call to action, they are there. Faith is important to me. It’s an important part of my personal and professional life. When there is a common goal, the faith community comes together and serves. That is very Janesville, and the community always surprises me in its capacity to give. It’s really fulfilling to be part of that effort and know my work serves God, the men at the shelter, and our community. I LOVE seeing people get passionate and inspired by the difference they can make! It’s fulfilling to have that professional impact closer to home. How does your role as an Ambassador dovetail with your professional life? My professional life is all about developing relationships and connections, helping others find where they can make an impact. Being an ambassador is the same! I was motivated to join the Ambassadors to be involved and see Janesville grow. I grew up in this area and it’s wonderful to see all the great things happening. The thing I enjoy most about being an Ambassador is meeting new people and making deeper connections. What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? Intentional days create a life of purpose.
