Forward Janesville - TheReport - Second Quarter 2021

Happy Days are not only ahead, they are here! Great outdoor weather is upon us. Vaccinations are quickly rolling out throughout the region and state. Recently announced events and cultural happenings are filling up everyone’s calendars (you remember those—the stuff that makes up the heartbeat of our community!). Everyone wants a piece of the event action, and Forward Janesville is no exception. Like a butterfly emerging from our cocoon, FJI events are beginning to emerge from their COVID-required hibernation, and it looks like events will return to “normal” this year beginning Thursday, June 24, when we host our first post-COVID Business After Five at the Holiday Inn Express and Janesville Conference Center located at 3100 Wellington Place in Janesville. Then, July 15, we will celebrate once more with a cooperative Forward Janesville and Greater Beloit Chamber of Commerce BA5 at the recently re-branded Janesville law firm Nowlan, located at 100 S. Main Street in Janesville. As we look ahead, we are excited to report that we have a full slate of BA5s to finish out 2021, and we have already filled the 2022 calendar. And let’s be honest, no summer would be complete without a Golf Outing, so in true Forward Janesville style, we will be hosting our 21st Annual Golf Outing at Prairie Woods Golf Course on September 21 with a shot-gun start at 11 am. There will be no shortage of prizes, and I can guarantee there will be a few shenanigans from our staff and guests. Don’t worry, we will have the pictures to prove it! Registration is online, so book your team and sponsorships early as we always sell out! Something new to our calendar this year will include a Multi-Chamber Networking opportunity. Forward Janesville is collaborating with our neighboring Milton Area Chamber of Commerce and Greater Beloit Chamber of Commerce for this exciting networking event. This will provide a great opportunity to meet and network with businesses that cross borders. We are very excited about this new offering for our members. Be sure to check our website and electronic newsletter for dates and important updates! But perhaps the most anticipated events for us are the return of our Annual Dinner and the Annual Awards Luncheon, where we celebrate the accomplishments of our business peers and gather at the Holiday Inn for what I call “The Business Prom.” Both of these events bring together the membership in ways that confirm our mutual mission of ensuring the continued health and prosperity of business and industry in Janesville and Rock County. Just another way we demonstrate “The Power of Community.” As you plan for Summer/Fall 2021, please take a moment and mark your calendars for our events and, while you are at it, please feel free to invite a friend or two. We will have plenty of sponsorship opportunities for your business to highlight your support and, as always, we will have great food and adult beverages for all to enjoy.
