Forward Janesville - TheReport - Third Quarter 2021
Janesville is AWESOME! By Tim Lindau In spite of tragedy, a pandemic, economic uncertainty, and a seemingly unending search to replace our CEO, that statement has never been more accurate. As I complete my term as Chairman of the Board for Forward Janesville, I am proud of all of those that make Janesville a wonderful place to work and play. On September 1, I will be handing over the reins to Oakleigh Ryan. Oakleigh’s passion, intelligence, and coalition building, which is only a very short list of her incredible attributes, will undoubtedly take Forward Janesville to the next level. Prior to the transition, I would like to take a few moments to update you, our members, on a few matters. Following the tragic death of Mike Osborne, Forward Janesville reinstated its search with QTI, a national search firm from Madison. QTI has been a wonderful partner and will undoubtedly bring more solid candidates this fall. Our hope is to have our permanent CEO in place by late fall/early winter. Forward Janesville is so grateful to our search committee members: Oakleigh Ryan, David Hiller, Lynn Gardinier, David Cullen, Steve Kennedy, Barry Brandt, and Jennifer McCarthy. While the search continues, we are fortunate that Curt Parish has agreed to serve as our interim CEO. Curt's role with Forward Janesville will be to temporarily stand in the big shoes created by John Beckord. Curt will continue to strengthen Forward Janesville’s partnerships with key community stakeholders, while also providing support to our awesome Forward Janesville team of Dan Cunningham, Jenny Tschudy, and Lindsay Cole. Finally, after twice extending his retirement to see Forward Janesville through the pandemic and devastating loss of Mike Osborne, John will be heading off into his sunrise on August 31. John dedicated 20 years of his life to Forward Janesville and the community and has been a steadying hand during the community’s numerous challenges. John was instrumental in rebuilding Janesville into the diversified and strong economy that we all enjoy today. There is no question that Forward Janesville is better having had John at the helm. In the last year and a half, Forward Janesville has converted challenges to opportunities. We know that more opportunities are already presenting themselves. I have no doubt that Forward Janesville will take advantage of those opportunities, which encourages us all to continue saying … Janesville is Awesome!
