Forward Janesville - TheReport -Second Quarter 2022

I am operationally minded by nature. Today, my role in the company is to formalize our processes to support the rapid growth we have experienced and set the stage for continued growth. We are too big to rely on what worked just a short time before. We also work very hard to put the right people in the right place. We have team members who have been with us since the beginning. If we find the right fit, everyone is happy and well served. I’m trying to learn Spanish. We have many Spanish-speaking employees, and I would love to be able to speak fluently. We are practicing now, speaking slowly! People might not realize how exceptional I am at packing and moving. This isn’t necessarily by choice! When we were first building the business, we got married, had a baby, and moved houses multiple times, sometimes repacking just after we unpacked the boxes. As the company grew, it too moved from a garage to a larger space and then a new build. Soon, we will need even more space once again. It’s an evolution and you learn to roll with it! Change is uncomfortable; it is easy to second guess yourself. The key is to practice being okay with the discomfort. Push through and keep moving forward. 1 2 3 When my husband Mike and I started Diamond Assets, we were not that far out from being broke college kids. We were naive to business. Yet we saw a golden opportunity to provide upcycling to organizations who were already investing in tech but receiving very little when it came time to retire it. By upcycling what we took in, we could offer real dollars back, helping everyone reap significant benefits from the lifecycle chain. We were nimble and could do things differently. When we do have free time as a family, we are all about the water. Boating, swimming, just about anything on or in the water. We love vacationing in Florida, too. • { LIFE LESSONS } We have three wonderful children ages 7, 3 and 1, so Mike and I live in a state of organized chaos. Our free time is primarily focused on the kids, though I learned early on that burnout is risky. Now, I try to take a long weekend away with girlfriends every quarter. No phones, no work, just time to reset. It makes a real difference. Though we’ve been in the area for quite a while, we are fairly new Forward Janesville members. As we continue to grow and build, we want to engage more fully with the community and make an impact. We’re excited to have a voice through the organization, and to see what the future brings. DIAMOND MCKENNA CEO, DIAMOND ASSETS LLC Lean into the fear. Most wouldn’t realize I am a true introvert, the type who dreads a party. It was out of my comfort zone to network. I learned that it was better for me to go to events alone, rather than with a friend, so I would force myself to talk with new people. You have to let go of the life jacket. When you work with family or anyone you have a close, personal relationship with it’s very important to create boundaries from the start. My husband and I are both Type A strong personalities. Setting clear expectations personally and professionally makes it work. • • { EDUCATION } 2007-2011 B.A., International Studies, Economics, Women Studies, French Bradley University Peoria, Illinois { WORK EXPERIENCE } 2015-PRESENT Current: Chief Executive Officer Prior Roles: President Executive Officer, Chief Operations Officer Diamond Assets, LLC Milton, Wisconsin 2011-2014 Ocean Export Specialist Benchmark Worldwide Logistics Elmwood, Illinois
