The Forward Janesville Government Relations Council (GRC) is a dynamic and impactful group of Forward Janesville members who approve each position the organization takes on local, state, or federal issues, and aids in planning our legislative and political events. They meet once a month to discuss issues that affect Forward Janesville members at all levels of government. Last issue, we profiled eight GRC members and now are pleased to present seven more, complete with an interesting fact from each! 14 • W W W . F O R W A R D J A N E S V I L L E . C O M Dan Cunningham Rich Gruber • Past Forward Janesville Staff Member, GRC Chair, Forward Janesville Board Chair, retired health care executive, and Janesville City Council President. Currently enjoying retirement as a guest host on WCLO / Big Radio and a Community Solutions Advocate with Common Sense Reestablished, LLC. Rich has been on and off GRC for at least the last 20 years. “I'm a proud graduate of the Rapport Institute Leadership Academy in Las Vegas having mastered courses in walking on burning coals and the art of levitating. Both skills have proven to be invaluable in my professional career helping me to cope with the hot seat on occasion and flying above the battle when necessary.” Jennifer Johns, CFRE • Director of Community Development & Mercyhealth Foundation, Mercyhealth. Jennifer has been on GRC for ten years. “I recently wrote a children’s book that showcases the Milton 4th of July run/walk called Magnolia’s Mile.“ Jennie Krajeck • Account Executive, Lamar. Jennie has served for eight years. “If we include the years I worked for FJI, it would be 12 years!” “I am the President of the James Otterstein Fan Club!” (Editor’s note: James is the Rock County Economic Development Manager.) Anna Hughes Papich • Southern Region Life Services Director, Aptiv. Anna has been on GRC for twelve years, since at least 2010, save for a short break in 2018-2019. “I am such a huge hockey fan. I started playing as a child and continued through adulthood, stopping in my 40s. I coached when my kids played and now continue my involvement through our Wisconsin Amateur Hockey Association. My favorite NHL team is the Minnesota Wild; second favorite is the Chicago Blackhawks.” David Farrell • Founder/Sales Manager, N1 Critical Technologies. Dave has been on GRC for four years. “I love camping with my wife and two dogs.” Mark Lorenz • Vice President, Commercial Banking, Johnson Financial Group. Mark has been a GRC member since 2016. “I am enjoying my 30th year as a banker in Janesville, and I am excited to see what the next 30 years has to offer!” Todd Needham • Principal/Secretary-Treasurer, R.H. Batterman & Company, Inc.
