Forward Janesville - TheReport - Second Quarter 2020
Why did you join the FJI Goodwill Ambassadors? I wanted to be part of a group of positive people who were cheerleaders for JANESVILLE and keep people informed of all the good that is coming to our city. Best quality Empathy. Worst habit Eating Cheez-it’s. What I love about my work Every day is something new and different. I get to help people every day make good decisions for their family. It’s very rewarding. The book on my bedside table Several books that were on my Mom’s bedside table. I lost her two years ago and still haven’t been able to read these books. Favorite local haunt I frequent downtown businesses. Trying to keep them open! My foodie obsession I love to cook and drink wine. And drink wine .... Number-one item on my bucket list I’ve actually knocked several items off my list. My goal is still to travel and see as much as possible while I am healthy! Best piece of advice I ever received Find a way to reinvent yourself to stay current. Worst piece of advice I ever received Peace at any price. Favorite place in the world I love Italy. I love the lifestyle, scenery, food, and, of course, the wine. What one word best summarizes you? Positive. If I ruled the world, everyone would… …take power naps and drink wine! It would be a much calmer place! SECOND QUARTER 2020 • 15 A M B A S S A D O R P R O F I L E Julie Raese Residential realtor at Century21 Affiliated for over 30 years. A MESSAGE FROM THE FORWARD JANESVILLE BOARD CHAIRMAN Dear Forward Janesville Members, I am honored to have succeeded Lynn Gardiner as Chair of the Board for Forward Janesville. Lynn was a phenomenal chairwoman and her leadership is greatly appreciated. When I assumed this position on March 1, I most definitely did not anticipate the health and economic crisis that would grip our nation, state and community. The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly and severely impacted all of our members and there is no question that this is a time of uncertainty. As resilient members of this community have seen in the past, uncertainty and challenge give way to opportunity. The Executive Committee has witnessed our Forward Janesville staff seize an opportunity to be a resource and lifeline to our members. At Forward Janesville, we are doing everything we can to provide value to all of our members and to the Janesville community. Whether it is through our weekly informational conference calls, Friday updates, or our newly announced virtual coaching sessions, Forward Janesville stands ready to assist all of our member businesses, large or small, in navigating the complex and difficult questions that have arisen as a result of this pandemic. We are confident that the relationships we have built with our members and other influential local, state, and federal leaders, uniquely position Forward Janesville to provide a high level of service during this crisis. Additionally, these relationships will provide an opportunity not only to serve our members but also to be a leader in sustaining and supporting the Janesville community. Although no one has truly seen a crisis quite like this, we have endured difficult times before. Because of the passion and commitment of community leaders like you, our members, I am confident that our resilience will once again shine through and, when this crisis passes--and it will--Janesville will be stronger than ever. Until we are there, Forward Janesville is here to help. Tim Lindau Attorney, Nowlan & Mouat LLP Board Chair, Forward Janesville, Inc.
